Preparing in Advance
Before you move your things out of your accommodation and into temporary storage, it’s crucial to prepare efficiently. This will mean that you won’t be storing things you don’t actually need to store and it’ll speed up the moving out process. When preparing to organise your things, we’d recommend going room by room or sorting them into categories. For example, kitchen items, bedroom items and furniture etc. We’d also recommend arranging it into different piles – it’s unlikely you’ll need/want to take everything, keep/store, donate/sell and bin are a good starting point.
Ensure Items are in Storable Condition
When you’re using a storage container, it’s important to make sure your items are in a good, storable condition. This means making sure everything is clean, dry and free of any mould. To keep your items in the best possible condition for when you’re ready to take your belongings away again, we’d strongly recommend using high-quality storage boxes so that everything is secure and safe. It’s also important to not overfill your boxes, not only will overfilling increase damage risk but it also means it’s harder and more unsafe for you when moving.
